Poor Customer Service |
| Date: Aug 04, 2010 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (McKinney, TX) | |
| I have been a loyal customer of this company for a number of years. I will no longer be using them and will be telling people not to use them either. I recently took my jeep in to get the tires rotated and balanced. I received poor customer service from the employees being rude. They failed to take care of warranty issues. The service they performed was done incorrectly. I had to take my jeep elsewhere to get the problem fixed that they did to it. I have proof from 3 other companies that the work was not done properly. When I called in to complain and speak to someone the District Manager was rude and declined to do any further business with me because I questioned their work. Since then they have avoided my calls and will not return phone calls. | |

| Been to the store a few times in the past few weeks. Bought some 'handles' for my JK and the purchase was fine and they were in stock. Staff were also to look into shipping costs and get back to me the next day for another product. I did not hear from them, so I drove down there and they said they would find out the next day and let me know then. I never heard back for a week. At the end of the week I attended their Jeep and Truck Show in Denver. Purchased some items and picked them up at the show instead of waiting for them to get back to me. Product was purchased without incident. Staff were professional. Also ordered and item from them at the show on Sat. They were to call me on Monday with when they expected the item to arrive. No one contacted me on Monday. I went by the store and they said it should arrive on Wednesday and would call me when it was in. I did not receive a call on Wed, Thurs or Fri. Went by there on the weekend and the parts were in and had been so since Wed. Picked up the item and it arrived as decribed and in good condition and for the agreed upon price. Overal, thus far, the products purchased have been just fine. Their customer service, although somewhat friendly, was lacking in any real initiave on keeping paying customers informed. I would have scored them much lower if the products I purchased were as bad as their customer service....luckily for them the products were decent. I am not completely turned off from ever using them....but might let a manager know my concerns next time I am in. |

| I wanted to buy a dynatrac pro roc 60 axle so they transfered me to the axle dept. And buy the time I got through listening to this rude arragant salesman, I told them to go F themselves, they just lost 3000.00 in that short time. They need to clean house and get people who know how valuable customer service is for a companys health. | |

| Like some other large manufacturers, you do not get the same customer service as smaller vendors. The pricing is high, but if you go into a store, or call in they will price match some times. Shipping was good for me. They carry allot of crappy house-brand type stuff. As in low-quality Chinese made parts that will fail pre-maturely. Be warned... |

| We called and emailed Compton store and talk to sales rep Chuck regarding Front and Rear Ring and Pinion and installation kits for Jeep to ship overseas. The order together with shipping would be around $700. Good money, right? I was told that the parts were in stock and that they can process the order as soon as I pay, so I sat up an appointment with Chuck for Saturday, March 20th 10AM to come in the store and pay for my parts. When we got in the front desk sales representatives said that Chuck was not there, so when I asked them to call around and try to find him since he said he would be here, they said that they can do the order instead, otherwise I would have to come back when Chuck is here. Since Saturday was the only time I can make it to the store and I couldn’t wait till next Saturday I said ok. So they tried to put in my order with shipping info and quoted me a higher price than what I was told in the emails with Chuck. I advised that they have to give me the same price as I was quoted. All of a sudden front desk said they could not do that order and that I have to wait for Chuck. At the same time we kept calling Chucks desk and cell. Then the story changed again, the front desk tells us that Chuck WAS there and that he was walking over to the front store to meet us. At this point we are in the store for over 40 minutes. It took him another 20 min to get to the front. Finally put it the order. We were there for over 1 hour just to PAY for the order. The order was supposed to be all ready for the appointment. The only thing was for us to do is to hand over the credit card and sign the receipt. I have never expected to this to be so hard. This happened on Saturday March 20th. As Chuck was preparing paperwork for me to sign he told me several times that the order will be processed and shipped on Monday, Tuesday 23rd the latest. Since I was previously told that parts were in stock and ready to be shipped I was thinking ok, cool, I will get my order shipped on time. That was wishful thinking. After not hearing anything from Chuck on Monday or Tuesday I tried to reach Chuck through emails/phone. Finally I was able to reach him on Friday and was advised that he will get me the number by the end of the day, which he did not, so I had to call back on Saturday morning. My card was charged on 3/20, while the items haven’t been shipped yet. After finally reaching Chuck on Sat we were promised that the shipping will be done on Mon 29th the latest and when contacting the store again on Monday the reps were not able to provide me with the tracking number and I realized that the items are not shipped to this day. Nice! Seriously, if there was a problem and the parts were not in store (I was told all was in stock and the order would be able to be shipped on 23rd the latest!) they could just have let me know about it, I am a pretty easygoing person and I understand that things happen, but I no one told me anything and I was not getting a response when I tried to find out where were my parts or money! After being treated this way and not getting a response I decided to go with a different retailer since 4weelparts took my money and did not deliver the items, so we requested a refund from Chuck. After talking to him and emailing I still did not get a confirmation number for the refund. Chuck and his manager Jeff did not return the calls or emails. At the end of the day on Mon the 29th I finally was able to get the reference number from someone at the front desk; however it on Wednesday the money still hadn’t come back to my account. I filed a dispute with my credit card provider and BBB. Two weeks of my time were wasted and they were slow on returning my money so I could get the parts for the vehicle elsewhere. As a result we lost the use of the vehicle for two extra weeks and I am unable to buy parts somewhere else since 4wheelparts was withholding my money and did not perform the services I paid for (which I consider to be theft). The company had no right to charge me until shipping my parts in the first place. The refund was finally made on Thursday. The most terrible performance and customer service that I have ever had in my life. They just lost a good, long-term relationship as there would be more orders coming in. I went with Summitracing instead. |

| I ordered a cat converter from them and they shorted me the converter. when I contacted them they put me on hold for 20 mins and then told me to call maganaflow. Magnaflow didnt understand why i had to call them, so i called them back and finally got them return this one. it took 17 days for them to credit my account. I also ordered banks cat back exhaust sytem and they were out of stock,. told me it would be avail in 5 days. 6 days later it had yet to ship. they told me another 5 days. I cancled order and it took 10 days to credit my account. I am still fighting with them because they never credited me 20 dollars in shipping. by far the worst company ever. I will still with quadratec they are awesome unlike 4 wheel parts | |

Told installation is free ad manager is rude |
| Date: Feb 13, 2010 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Houston, TX) | |
| When we bought the bak flip for our truck online we asked immediately about the installation fee. They told it is already included. Before the installation we asked again and they said "it is already included". But after, they charged the installation fee. The amount of the merchandise online plus the installation fee. And they refused to give back the money. We said we will gonna return the product. They will do but the installation fee will not be refunded. What's the point. Plus.. the manager we talked to was really rude and not nice talking/expalining to the customer. even making his eyes bigger to intimidate us, i guess. Don't let them install! They are overpriced! or better yet, don't buy products from them. |

| Worst place to buy your 4x4 stuff. I bought two fox shocks from them at my local store here in Dallas TX, they told me in two weeks will be ready (long time for two shocks). Now I have a month and still waiting I asked for a refund but they say is a special order and there is no refund for a special order. | |

Don't Let Them Install Anything!!!!!!!!! |
| Date: Nov 04, 2009 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Southern California) | |
| Installed locker and 5.13 gears in my jeep. After beginning the install, they noticed that they ordered the wrong parts. 2-weeks later, ordered wrong parts again. I did research on jeep forum and found what I needed and got item #s online. I went back to the store to cross reference and found that they were ordering the wrong parts again (gears for a TJ instead of a JK). The employees got rude and insisted they take the same gears until I wanted a refund and the manager made them order the right part. I should have took my money and ran, but like an idiot, I let them do the install when the correct parts came in. I have been back 4 times in 3 weeks for leaking difs, locker not working, and air leaks. On one of the visits, they did not even properly tighten my lug nuts. I pulled off the freeway when my front end started darting and was horrified to find the lugs loose. They run their stores like the DMV or other government office. For your own sanity and safety, stay away. | |

Just another great review |

| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Fort Worth, TX) | |
| Here is an experience to hear about: I am currently working in Afghanstan and wanted to put Wheels and Tires on my Jeep when I get home. I finally found the wheels that I wanted at 4 Wheel Parts. I have to say that I have ordered and even shopped at my local store and had a great experience, until now. I called to place the order since the website was not working properly. The first set of wheels were discontinued for the TJ, website didn't say anything, the guy told me to go back online pick out "a few" sets then call back. So I picked out 3 more sets. I got a backordered, and 2 discontinued for the TJ. He had no answer why they showed them on their website for a TJ. So I decided to just order tires. MISTAKE!!! When I tried to explain that I had no use for the Tires in Afghanistan he told me that they could only be shipped to my billing address. SO I cancelled my order, or I thought I did. The Sales Rep charged and shipped a partial order. I will not be doing anymore business with them. |

Lost order?!?!?!?! Santa Ana, CA |

| So my first experience was wonderful. NOT!!! The guys in the santa ana ca store are ignorant. You walk in and its dead and they dont even say hi? Thats warm and welcoming. If I was their boss id fire each and everyone of them. I place an order on line and it says 1-2 business days on the website on the email even on a brochure in the store. Its been 4 days and not one person can tell me where my order is. Not online support customer care 800 number nor the idiots behind the counter. Worst ever |

| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Miami, FL) | |
| I purchased 4 shocks on line that were never shipped correctly and after 4 days of promises not even the manager tried to fix the problem. They don't care about customers, and it is not a good idea to call their customer service offices, since they will not fix any of your problems. I don't have the shocks and still waiting for my money.. | |

Redondo Beach Store - Marco (sales rep) |
| Date: May 21, 2009 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Los Angeles, CA) | |
| This is the worst store I have ever been to! I went into their store on Monday to get a custom exhaust and air intake installed by friday. I asked Marco, is this possible? "Oh, sure, we get parts overnighted to our store all the time." So I put down a deposit and wrote up a $1,500 order. Sure enough, Tuesday, Marco calls and says the exhaust place (Volant) doesn't have the $518 part in stock and I should go with Magnaflow for the same price... I didn't want Magnaflow so I called Volant to make sure. Thank God I called because sure enough, Marco was asking for the wrong part and they had plenty of the exhaust systems I needed for my 2006 TJ Rubicon. So I asked the guy what was the price... "it's on sale for $150." he said. I'll take one, I said and called 4 wheel parts to remove that item from the order (saving myself roughly $200 - I had to pay $65 to have them overnight it to make it there by Friday. So I when I called Marco back, he said "OK, we're all set to go." Little did I know he hadn't lined up the air intake yet (also from Volant - the same company). Wednesday comes and Marco calls saying that Volant doesn't have the Air intake in stock. So I call Volant and the guy confirms this- why couldn't I know about this before Wednesday from Marco? So Marco says I will call my whearhouse in the cleveland and have them overnight the part but it's going to cost you another $50.00. I say fine. Today is thursday and Marco just left me a message saying the part wasn't shipped - so I am stuck. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! BE WARNED 4 Wheel Parts and 4WD are now the same company. |

Very unhappy |
| Date: Apr 29, 2009 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Seattle, WA) | |
| Ordered a Calmini bumper from 4 wheel parts in Seattle, put down a $500.00 deposit. Checked the status two weeks later, was told it was accidentally shipped to the CA warehouse, should be just a few days out. A few days later I check again - now Calmini isn't able to ship to them, he is going to have to call corporate and find out what is going on. Weird - because last time I checked it was already in 4 wheel parts posession. In the meantime I called Calmini and the bumper is backordered 3-4 weeks...after already waiting almost 4! I will surely NEVER order anything from them again. It seems like someone may have been "less than honest" with me. |

| IF I had the choice of Zero Star I would have. I am with most of the reviewers here. If there was a local 4x4 shop besides 4WP`s were I live I would have shopped there. Went in for a quote on wheels and tires. Thought the price in the store was a little high. So got on the computer checked 4WP`s web site. Guess what the On-line store was 950 bucks cheaper. | |

Keep your money in your county |
| Date: Dec 17, 2008 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Vacaville, CA) | |
| I only went to 4 Wheel Parts because of price. My local Off-Road shop was a little higher in the price. Wish I could do it all over again. The ol' saying "you get what you pay for" is very true. When I received my 4 wheel parts order, most of the hardware was missing & they convenietly "forgot" to mount & balance my tires. I ended up having to go back to my local shop in Fairfield, Ca. with my tail between my legs for help. Boy what a big difference; they mount/balanced my tires, hooked me up with hardware & gave me tips on the install (doing it myself). They could of blown me off, but explained that their prices are a little higher because they keep customers 1st not price. Plus it keeps the tax revenue in our own county. Now I will always spend the extra buck to get the great service a "small local shop" has to offer. Plus when I go in there now it's like family. Boy what an expensive way to try to save a buck. Support your local shop & county. God knows we all need it, since the gov't won't support us unless were already rich & a Wall Street guru... Kudos to Anyone's Off-Road & Customs in Fairfield Ca. 4 Wheel Parts your out. The few bucks of savings isn't worth the headaches. | |

Hats off to TO, Ca Team! |
| Date: Nov 10, 2008 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Thousand Oaks, CA) | |
| Hats off to the Jon and team at the Thousand Oaks, CA store!! I purchased a pair of 4.88 gears for my Rubi and had them installed by the store. The outcome was noisy gears. A redo resulted in yet a different noise from the rear set. I was frustrated but ready to write it and 4 Wheel Parts off as a bad experience but Jon was tenacious to resolve the issue to my full satisfaction and asked to try again. Third try was the charm. The gears are quiet and I am now a committed customer to 4 Wheel Parts with many mods planned. Jon is their best asset and is truly focused on complete customer satisfaction. The only reason I did not rate a 10 was that although they test drove my Rubi after the work was performed they told me the gears were quiet. It was immediately obvious to anyone that this was not the case. I know diffs are touchy and a redo is common - just acknowledge this up front and not hope the customer is deaf. Thanks Jon - see you soon! |

| I have been forced to use these imbeciles because there are not many good independant shops that I can afford. Ive always regretted going to them. last thing they did was take 4 tries to install my ARB. Each time I had to point out their mistake and ahve them correct it. After the fourth time when they finally installed axle seals correctly, I notice they had forgotten to put my hub/center caps back on. I didnt care, just happy to get my vehicle back. The staff doesnt know sh*t, they are high school drop outs, avoid them like the plague. Instead, try Arabia overkill in San jose. the guys expensive but at least knows what hes doing. |

Portland, OR store is a waste of time and money |
| Date: Sep 27, 2007 | |
| Reviewer: A JeepReviews.com User from (Portland, OR) | |
| I used to be a big supporter of 4 Wheel Parts. I would tell my friends to go there and buy parts and did all my shopping there. They do after all carry every part a Jeeper could want. That all stopped after dealing with the Portland, OR store. They gave away my old tires after I purchased new ones from them. (No offer of compensation) They aligned my jeep, yet failed to align the steering wheel afterwards. When going back in to get it fixed I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. And now my current problem, I order parts through them the second week of July. It has now been eleven weeks and I have only received part of my order. I have talked to the store manager and the district manager and have basically been told that its not their problem so I'll get my parts whenever they show up. They have offered absolutely nothing to compensate me for my time or inconvenience. I will never shop with this store again. | |

Have had to take it back repeated times and always seem to spend more money on something I did wrong while wheelin. But what kind of damage can a 4 cyl. 2.5 L. daily driver/ weekend worrier w/ a 4" lift on 31" bfg m/t really do. | I normally purchase tires from discount tire but for some reason decided to go with 4 wheel parts due to some BS by the sales person. I was assured that the warranty that 4 WP's offered was second to none. This is not true. To use there tire warranty you have to purchase a new tire from them, they will send it to you and then you have to cut a piece of tread and the DOT # and send it in. If your tire is 50% or greater on tread life they will refund your money, if it is less then thet prorate. This is not what I was told. Hugh pain in the azz. Always buy Discount Tire, they are the best. withour a doubt. Customer service has been terrible on other issues too.

I ended up getting different parts than I originally planned and felt that I might have gotten "sold". However, after everything was put on, I am absolutely satisfied with everything they did. Their prices were very good. I've only been able to find my tires for cheaper somewhere else, and it was only a $1 difference. I plan on going back for lockers as soon as I get the money.

Tires and rims not mounted |

| I was away camping and got a call from my mother inlaw that the trucking company called and were delievering my 31" Bfg mud terrains and 15x8 rock crawler rims that I ordered from 4WHEELPARTS. Well I got home last night and in my garage sitting on a pallet is my order. Well except for one thing they missed. They never mounted and balanced them. I had 4 tires and 4 rims sitting there. I just called these guys and they said that the order is taken in Cali then sent to Florida where the tires come from and someone didnt highlight mount and balance on invoice so it was over looked. There responce when I said what are we going to do about it, was for me to take them somewhere and have them done some where and they would credit me the 40 $ i paid to have it done by them because it would cost to much to have the trucking company pick them up and then redeliever the order right. These guys were like oh well like it was my fault..last order I ever make from 4wheelparts. |

| I ordered a set of daystar lights and entry guards on Jan 3 and I have called twice and they told me (on the second call) that they were holding up my order because they had not recieved any in. They told me that I would not get my order untill the end of Feb or Mar. Come on!! Holding it up for a $15 part? I will not shop there again. |

| I purchased a winch plate for my tj with my credit card and was told i would recieve it in 3-4 weeks and i waited and i waited and i waited after about 6 1/2 weeks i call them they say that it will be another 2-3 weeks due to a back order. I call billy bobs and they say 2 days. I tell 4wheelparts to cancel because my winch isnt doing a bit of good just sitting in the box. They said it was canceled (and on my next statment) and low and behold i recieved it 3 1/2 weeks later, by then i already had the one from billy bobs on and went wheeling for three weekends so i held on to it for about a month and went in to take it back. I was told i could get a check instead of instore credit because i paid off my card and cancelled it and no longer wanted to do business with them due to the lack of service and knowlege about salesmanship. I never recieved any type of payment or anything. I got on the phone dozens of times with every smooth forked toung talking boss i could get ahold of and the only response i got was that they dont refund anything and only do in store credit or take the charge off of my card. I paid the card off and cancelled it, wheres my money? Guess what, i got the shaft and will never ever go there again. Thanks for reading my long story. Ive told everyone i know that wheels, and will continue to do so every time i drive by the tacoma store i just want to puke. |

Poor customer service. |

| I had ARB air lockers, 4.11 gears and a Super35 kit installed by 4WP in my '03 TJ. The install was quick, however pricey, but I had problems afterwards with the rear air locker line leaking (the very next day) and the front pinion seal leaking (pretty bad). The nearest store to me is over a hour away. I had to drive back down there just for them to verify it is leaking. Then I had to go back that next week so they can repair it. I got there, they pulled it apart only to find they forgot to order the seal. They stuck the leaky one back in and said they'd order it. I said screw them and had a local shop replace it. No problems since. Their customer service is very poor in the Fresno store. |

| I recently bought a lift kit, rims and tires from the Houston area 4wheel parts store on my 05 Rubicon. I'm having major issues with my alignment from lift kit and they cannot seem to balance my tires. I purchased a spare rim and tire and have been there twice to pick it up and it hasn't been there. Other than some of those problems, the staff is very friendly. | |

| Ordered a soft top from them, leaked from the day i got it. Took them three months to send me a new one from a different manufacturer after loosing the order multiple times, not calling back after they specifically said they would, sending me the wrong item once, etc... | |

Sloppy Install work but counter staff helpful |

| I drove out to the nearest 4 wheel parts in El Cajon, CA to purchase a budget boost for my cherokee and decided I would just have them do the work since they weren't that busy that week. Also purchased a prerunner. They must have had the intern install it. I checked it when I got home and bolts were loose! Ontop of this they lost two of my lug nuts and scratched my bumper all to hell installing the prerunner. If you live in the San Diego area I would highly recommend Off Road Warehouse instead. I have since had them do some work and found that while their counter staff is pretty rude unless you drive what they want you to drive, their install crews are top notch. |

| I have been shopping at the Denver and Westminster locations for severals years and I have found the customer service people to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I have never had a bad experience, but I have had les than perfect installations of my 4" lift. Scecifically the alignment and gearshift adjustments were doen poorly. However the did fix both problem immediately and without hassle. | |

| I've had some good and not so good experiances. I have never had anything installed there. So I will not comment on installs. But they are a great local shop that usually has whatever it is I need in stock. They are the Walmart of offroading. As for their employees, its a hit or miss sitituation. Some are very helpful and concerned with your purchase/questions, while others can be extremely discourteous. (I have only shopped at the 4wheelparts in Colorado Springs.) |

| El Cajon, CA (near San Diego, CA) Got lazy and decided to have them install a new set of JKS discos. They did almost nothing correctly. Except for purchasing parts, stay away from this place. Totally disgusted. |

Cheap prices sometimes but questionable service and rep |

| Have bought a couple things from their SLC store and have been OK experiences. Have also bought several things over their sales line. Salesmen are pretty dishonest and misleading but if you are well informed and want to spend some time on the phone, you can work them down quite a bit on some items. Have heard others having horrible experiences though... they are a big company and can treat customers and get away with it:-( Cant beat their buy 3 get 1 free Xterrain offer they have every 3 months or so, I will give them that much. |
