Gives a bad name to 4-wheeling

Arch Canyon is too vulnerable to impacts to be a good site for a Jeep Jamboree. We saw the aftermath of the 2004 event, and it was not pretty.

Not much variety of difficulty.

I've also done the Moab (2000) and Rubicon Trail(2001) Jamborees as comparison. We did Arch Canyon in 2001 and met a lot of great people and had a lot of fun as always on a Jeep Jamboree. The trails however were a little less than expected. The first day, was a trail that could be done in any stock SUV by pretty much any driver. The second day, there was a choice, either another easy trail or one rated 9 (Rubicon is rated at 10). Almost everyone did the 9 rated trail. The trail for the most part was easy, with the exception of a couple really tough obsticles that made it a 9. The lunch spot is at the end of trail, and had a great view of 4 states. After lunch is a return trip down the same trail.

This is a fun trip and would be perfect for novice drivers and stock or nearly stock rigs. Two Grand Cherokees, only slighly modified made it up the 9 rated trail. It wasn't easy, but with the help of guides they did it.

For those of you looking for more of a challange, Moab is so close by and provides much more of a range of difficulty to select from.
