Jeep Commander

The Jeep Commander XK 7-passenger SUV debuted in 2006. The Commander is positioned to appeal to the family vehicle crowd, as opposed to other Jeep vehicles (e.g. Wrangler, Cherokee) which focus more on the traditional offroading set. The Commander's design has taken a lot of cues from the Jeep Grand Cherokee such as its independent front suspension and coil springs. As part of the Chrysler restructuring plan, the Commander is scheduled to exit production in 2011.
