Features: The JKS Heavy Duty Crossmember replaces the OEM crossmember and transfer case skid plate on the Jeep Cherokee XJ. This cross member is designed to tuck up a bit tighter than the original equipment. It will give you a little extra ground clearance by shifting the t-case up 1/4" on manual transmission XJ's and 5/8" on automatic transmission models.
The crossmember is constructed of 1/4" thick rectangular steel tubing and the skid plate is made from 3/16" steel plate. JKS literature claims that this product is a direct bolt-on (utilizing your XJ's original crossmember mounting location).
