Easy install, great protection, and if you cut off the excess bolt ends you wont have any problems. At least i have not after 6 months and a fair amount of abuse. I bought mine for 25.00 bucks used so i cant complain either way. |

I have ran these lower control arm skids for sometime. For those without either the tools or skills to weld on lower control arm skids this is a great alternative. As already mentioned the bolts do stick out. However if I remember correctly the directions recommend using a die grinder/cut wheel to chop off the excess. I did this and have at best 3/4" of bolt sticking out. I have not ripped off the bolts, these skids have sustained a substantial amount of scraping and held up well. I'm very pleased with them and would recommend them to others. |

The skid plates are extremely solid, and easily bolted on.
The problem is the bolts stick out the front of the plate and snag on things, I don't understand why 2 of the 4 bolts face forward (are not hidden by the axle). Upon hitting a rock I tore one off.
The instructions mentioned reversing the direction on the LCA bolts but on my 04 TJ Rubicon it was not possible to reverse one due to the larger Dana 44 in the front. |
