A good lift with bad instructions |

I had never done any "real" mechanical work before installing this lift, and had quite a time doing it. The instructions that come with this kit stink. Despite the bad instructions, once you figure out what you are doing it's not too hard.
Other than the instructions, the kit is great. The ride is now better than with the stock setup. I guess my shocks were worn out (I had about 40K miles on them).
If you only have $210 then get this kit, it's worth it. |

The instructions suck (I relied more on Internet directions), and it was a bit of a puzzle trying to figure out how to press in the bar pins on the shocks without tearing up the bushings (hint - press bushing out, push bar pin thru bushing with fingers, spray with silicone spray, press the bushing back in using socket so you're pressing on the bushing rather than the bar pin). The quality of the pressed-in metal bushings on the rear shock is dubious, I scrunched one (luckily there is a spare in the package) by torquing it to factory spec, now it's torqued to less than factory spec and I'm glad red lok-tite exists. But the lift does the job, the install was rather painless other than the above quibbles, and the shocks, while a bit harsher than OEM, also take away all the wheel hop that would make my Jeep jump sideways every time it hit a bump. I probably should have upgraded to better shocks, but the stock shocks are so terrible that even these shocks are an upgrade (my stock shocks puked their guts out after the first day of washboard with less than 2,000 miles on a brand new Jeep!). |

I've had it installed on my 04 Rubicon for 3 months and am quite pleased with the results. Everthing about the install was pretty much straitforward. I am finding out that now I am going places that I woudn't have gone before. The next thing to put on may be the nth degree tummy tuck. With a 2" lift and a 2 to 3 inch tuck, you would have a real sleeper on the trails, and a great DD! |

RE BB Good Deal!! |

I bought the RE BB because I forsee that down the road I want to go higher. I want to move up slowly so that I can get to know my limits before lifting it higher. The kit is a very easy install and I had no problem doing it myself. Took me a full day, and while I was installing the lift I also installed some JKS Swaybar disco's. The instructions are crap, so that is why I give it a 9. For anyone who is in the same boat as me I would suggest getting this lift. |

The lift was easy to install but the instructions stink. The pics are generic showing the bump stop extensions in all the pics.
We went out of order because a bumper was going on the back, so we started front first and got the bump stops wrong, easy to fix but if the instructions had proper pics it would not have taken place.
Bar pins are a pain as well. to bad they don't install them for you.
Other then that I could do it again in about 3 hours. |

Good Alternative for New Jeeps Under Warrantie |

If you need a bit more clearance and you are worried about about the warranty coverage on your new Jeep, this is a great alternative. The lift is not high enough for a dealership to hassle you about it being "after market parts". A great way to gain clearance if you are unable to finance a full suspension lift right away. A proper lift is done with a SYE kit and new DS in addition to the cost of the lift and this can add up in cost. The BB allowed me to practice with clearance on my Jeep to get a feel for what kind of driving I will be doing and what lift will suite my needs when it's time to go higher. Recommended for those owning 4WD vehicles for the first time. |

For around $219 shipped you get four shocks, four spacers, and two bump stops. That is quite the value. The instructions were good and the install went pretty smoothly. The ride on the RE BB shocks is kind of harsh but what do you expect for $219. This is a good entry level kit that I ran for several months. Another plus to the RE BB is that you can usually sell them rather easily on ebay or jeepforum. I had several inquires and a few offers within a day of posting the BB for sale. I got $100 for it, not bad. |

I didnt have a lot of money to spend on a lift kit at the time, and I wanted to run 32's. So I put in the 2" spacer lift, and a 3" body lift. Now I am running 32s no prob, lots of room to flex to. You can get a lot of flex from a stock TJ when you disconnect the sway bars. Excellent set up, and the best part is, it was very affordable. |

Everyone should ease their way into lifting their TJ, not throw a 10" lift on right away, and this budget lift is the best out there. Install time is about 4-5 hours with 2 people and some basic tools: penetrating oil, torx bits (T55), metric & standard sockets & wrenches, factory bottlejack (or other high jack), and at least 2 jackstands. The BB is very well made, everything is quality, and I got everything I needed to complete the install. The price is going down now, and for around $200 you can have your own TJ lifted 2"--enough to fit 31" or even 32" tires (on properly backspaced wheels). If you're looking for a lift on a budget...this is absolutely it. |

Everything You Need to get 2" Higher for Only $200!! |

This is where it all begins. If you are new to the world of Jeeps, looking for a bit more height but like the rest of us totally cash strapped, this is the 2" lift for you. The RE 2" BB come complete with everything you need. I ran this lift in conjunction to a Performance Accessories 1" body lift, 32x11.50 BFG M/T KM's and loved it (you will need 1.25" wheelspacers or new wheels with 4.5" of backspacing or less in order to run these tires). I know some guys run 33x10.50s on stock wheels with this setup too. |

For around $220, you can make your stock TJ look a lot meaner without the hassles that come with bigger, "real" lifts. The RE BB, as it is known, can be installed in one day with the help of a friend. If this friend happens to have access to a car lift, great, it's a breeze that way. But most will install it their driveway with simple tools. Be sure to upgrade to the DT3000 shocks for a nicer ride. Fits 32" tires nicely. Throw on a JKS 1.25" body lift and you can squeeze on 33's. |
