Its a good lift that gave my 05' Wrangler X a little bit more of a mean look to it. Took a couple hours to put on not counting all the beer, B/S, and other breaks we took pluss the lift was given to me by a friend.....but over all its a good one compaired to the other 2" coil spacer lifts |

I just installed this lift today and the only problems i had were removing old front shocks. But once i got my sawzall out things went way smoother. The other problem was installing springs without a compressor. A good pry bar is an asset. Looks great and rides great too....Good luck to all. |

Like most of us jeepers i daily drive my rig. I opted for the hydro shocks, and it was a good choice. They are a little stiffer then stock. My truck looks great with my 32's. Instructions suck, might as well trow them out, and go on line. |

I recently installed the Skyjacker 2" spacer lift on my 2005 Wrangler. It was fairly easy to install, but the instructions were not very detailed. It does give my Jeep the slightly higher look that I wanted. |

Once you decide on the "budget" lift, its only a matter of installing it "DIY" style. This one is pretty easy, if you can change oil, you can do this lift. At purchase, you'll have a choice of the softer riding Hydro shocks versus the stiffer Nitro shocks, and an argument can be had for both. A quick call to the Skyjacker poeple can make your decision easier. Personally, I chose the Hydros for the softer ride, as my rig is still pretty much an on-road vehicle, occasional off-road. I wasn't disappointed in my decision as the Hydros provide a similar ride to stock, possibly a tad stiffer, but not the tooth-jarring ride you'd expect. As for install, it will take anywhere from 2-4 hours, and being prepared with the right tools will get you done sooner than later. The only "special" tools needed to make the job easier might be a spring compressor for those front springs after you get the spacer in. That was the most difficult part of the job for me, as I had no spring compressors. Its doable without, but you'll save some time compressing those springs.
The instructions included were kind of lame, to put it nicely. I had to make a call to the Skyjacker people mid-install to make sure I was doing it right, but the nice and friendly customer service people assured me I was doing it right. A couple of online write-ups were also available that will definitely make your life easier. Do a search or ask on your favorite forum and you'll find plenty.
The only problems I encountered were a slight driveline vibration from 0-10 mph, but it was quickly resolved by placing a few washers between the frame and the skid plate or the purchase of the Skyjacker transfer case lowering kit (I chose the latter option).
I give the Skyjacker 2" coil spacer BB 8 stars, with the only drawback the less than desireable instructions and the slightly higher price over the Rubicon Express package. |
